Our Fees & Costs

At Wildscape Deer Management, transparency is part of how we work. Landowners and estate managers need to understand not only what a service costs, but what it is intended to achieve, how it will be delivered, and whether it fits the realities of the site.

Our fee structure is designed to be straightforward. Each package offers a different level of support depending on the scale of the holding, the level of deer pressure, and whether you need a full management response, a formal plan, or simply the evidence required to move forward with confidence.

We work with estates, farms, woodland owners, land agents and rural businesses across Sussex, with selected services also available into Hampshire where appropriate.

Why Structured Deer Management Is Worth the Investment

The cost of unmanaged deer pressure is rarely confined to visible browsing alone. Poorly controlled populations can undermine woodland creation, delay regeneration, damage crops and amenity planting, and increase the long-term cost of remedial work.

Professional deer management gives you:

  • a clearer picture of deer pressure on the ground
  • a defensible basis for management decisions
  • stronger support for grant-linked woodland work
  • more efficient use of time and resources
  • a practical route towards long-term habitat improvement

Our Packages

Comprehensive Management Package

Enquire for details

This is our most extensive package and is intended for estates or landholdings that require a fully managed, long-term approach to deer population control and habitat protection.

This package may include:

  • Population assessments using field observation, thermal imaging and, where appropriate, drone support
  • A full Deer Management Plan tailored to the site, its constraints and its long-term objectives
  • A five-year cull strategy with structured review points and measurable management outcomes
  • Guided fee-paying stalking, where appropriate, integrated into the wider management framework
  • Venison sales assistance to support ethical use, compliance and sensible commercial return

This package is best suited to clients who require continuity, oversight and a professional management partner rather than isolated control activity.

Partial Management Package

From £2,000 plus stalking share

This package is designed for estates and rural businesses that want professional structure and support while retaining some degree of involvement in day-to-day delivery.

It includes:

  • A population assessment using on-the-ground observation, thermal and other supporting survey methods where appropriate
  • A full Deer Management Plan tailored to current pressure, management objectives and future activity
  • Support for grant-linked planning, including work relevant to PA7 & CWS1 Deer Control & Management Plan Applications
  • Guided stalking to support implementation and improve consistency on the ground
  • Venison retention by the estate, where lawful and appropriate, for private use or estate larder purposes

This package is well suited to holdings that already have some operational capability but need better planning, evidence and oversight.

Survey and Impact Assessment Package

From £500

This package is designed for landowners, agents and managers who need a clear understanding of deer activity and impact before committing to a broader programme of work.

It includes:

  • Site-based survey work to assess deer presence, likely movement patterns and areas of pressure
  • Habitat and impact appraisal to support practical decision-making
  • Evidence gathering to support grant applications and woodland planning
  • Clear recommendations on next steps, whether that is further survey work, a Deer Management Plan or targeted control

This package aligns particularly well with:

Which Package Is Right for You

The appropriate level of support depends on the condition of the site, the seriousness of the deer pressure, and what you need the management programme to achieve.

In broad terms:

  • Choose the Comprehensive Management Package if you want full oversight, long-term delivery and a strategic approach across the holding
  • Choose the Partial Management Package if you want a strong framework with some retained estate involvement
  • Choose the Survey and Impact Assessment Package if you need evidence, clarity and a professional starting point before committing further

Service Area and Practical Scope

Our deer management work is centred on Sussex, with selected services extending into Hampshire where appropriate. Some fixed-fee or grant-linked services may have specific geographic limitations, mileage terms or remote-only delivery conditions. These will be confirmed at enquiry stage so that there is clarity from the outset.

What Happens Next

Once you contact us, we will normally begin with a short discussion to understand:

  • the size and type of the holding
  • the species present or suspected
  • the nature of the damage or concern
  • whether the work is linked to grants, planting or wider land management objectives

From there, we can advise on the most appropriate package and whether a site visit, survey or formal planning service is the right first step.
